I’m Michelle, the proud owner and founder of Marilyn James. Many people ask me about the story behind the name, "Marilyn James." The truth is, it’s a heartfelt tribute to my parents.
Growing up, my mother, Susan, was a devoted admirer of the legendary Marilyn Monroe. To her, Marilyn’s iconic beauty, confidence, and playful spirit exemplified what it meant to be beautiful. Tragically, my mother passed away when I was just 14, but her love for Marilyn Monroe has left an indelible mark on my life.
As time goes on and some memories fade, our bond through this timeless icon remains unbreakable. The name "Marilyn" captures elegance and embodies the essence of timeless beauty. When people hear “Marilyn James,” I want them to think of legendary icons like Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Ava Gardner, Sophia Loren, and Dorothy Dandridge.
The “James” in our name is inspired by my father, James—my hero and the strongest person I know. He has faced great loss yet has shown immense resilience, serving as a decorated Vietnam veteran and retiring after 37 years as a firefighter. His strength and courage have shaped the woman I am today, and "James" symbolizes that powerful strength.
